We celebrated the fall harvest this weekend, albeit a little on accident.
We happened to be walking by our neighborhood urban farm when we decided to go in. They were cleaning up from their CSA this morning and had some things leftover, so they were selling them cheap. We ended up buying all of this:
For a whopping $4. Yes, you read that right. The giant longnecked pumpkin was $3, the giant broccoli was $1 and the focaccia was free! As you can imagine, that was the basis of what we ate this weekend. We had pumpkin soup, pumpkin pie and pumpkin nog on Saturday and broccoli cheddar soup on Sunday. Both soups were served in focaccia bread bowls. Yummmm….
I must say, it was one of the tastier weekends on record.
Though last weekend at the Fall Fiber Festival in Montpelier, I did get to eat some tasty BBQ lamb from this place:
That was also tasty, though considerably less healthy.
